UFC President Dana White has announced that he intends to arrange a rematch between flyweight champion Davison Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno in the future.
“We have to give these guys some time to rest, but we will definitely have this rematch for sure,” White said at a press conference. “This is another fun fight that we all look forward to in 2021.” Dana White said.
“Figueiredo won the fight against me. After removing the point, the entire course of the battle changed. Moreno began to gain momentum. He probably won that round with no points deducted. That’s when the whole fight started to change. “
The fight between Davison Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno ended in a draw
The main fight of UFC 256 has just concluded between flyweight champion Davison Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno. The beginning of the battle remained with the champion, whose hits looked noticeably harder. However, Moreno withstood all the hard hits of Figueiredo and by the end of the second round leveled the fight.
The third round was already held with varying success. Figueiredo slowed down and got tired, and Moreno’s successful combinations began to pass more and more often. Figueiredo was also deducted a point for hitting the groin. Earlier in the fight, Davison also got his fingers in the opponent’s eyes. In the fourth round, the champion slowed down even more and Moreno was already significantly better. In some episodes, it seemed that Brandon even came close to an early victory when he shook Figueirede with stance punches.
The final round was an equal fight, but at the very end Figueiredo made an amplitude throw and attacked the opponent with heavy hits from above. As a result, one judge gave the victory to the champion, and the other two set a draw (48-46, 47-47, 47-47). The fight ended in a draw, which allowed Figueirede to retain the title.
